John Brogden is a highly experienced business leader, former Australian politician, and mental health advocate. He served as Member for Pittwater in the NSW Parliament from 1996 and became Leader of the Opposition in 2002, the youngest person in Australian history to lead a major political party at state or federal level.
Following a personal journey through depression and recovery, John has become a prominent advocate for mental health, challenging misconceptions and promoting awareness across corporate and community sectors. He currently serves as Chairman of Lifeline Australia and holds leadership roles including Chairman of Furlough House Retirement Village and Patron of Sailability Pittwater, Avalon Beach and Bilgola Surf Lifesaving Clubs, and Kookaburra Kids.
In the corporate sphere, John has led prominent organisations including as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (2015–2017), the Financial Services Council (2009–2015), and Manchester Unity (2006–2008). In 2018, he was appointed CEO of Landcom, where he continues to contribute his leadership expertise. John combines his professional insight with personal experience to inspire change, resilience, and leadership in both business and community.
