Jim Wilson is a professional communicator, award-winning sports journalist, and highly sought-after keynote speaker and MC. With a career spanning more than 38 years, Jim has covered eight Olympic Games, Paralympics, World Cup soccer, AFL Grand Finals, State of Origin series, major cricket tours, and the Big Bash League, earning a reputation for insight, humour, and engaging storytelling.
Jim spent 20 years with the Seven Network, including as National Sports Editor and senior presenter, before moving to 2GB to host Sydney’s drive-time news and current affairs. He now leads his own communications company, The Comms Gurus, while continuing to deliver keynote addresses, after-dinner speeches, and MC roles for corporate and charitable events across Australia.
Renowned for his passion, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with audiences, Jim tailors his presentations to inspire, entertain, and educate. His topics include leadership, teamwork, goal setting, performing under pressure, resilience, and change management, often drawing on his extensive sporting experience. As a communications trainer, he has worked with CEOs, Chairs, and corporate teams to enhance public speaking, media skills, and confidence.
Jim is also an ambassador for the Carlton Football Club, the Titans Rugby League Club, and Cancer Council NSW, honouring the memory of his youngest son, Sam. Based on the Gold Coast, he is married to journalist Chris Bath and is a proud father to Joey and Darcy.
