Ron Wilson’s broadcasting career began in Darwin at the local television station, where he was living and working when Cyclone Tracy struck in Christmas 1974. This tragic event prompted Ron to move south and pursue a career as a news and radio presenter, with roles including 2WL Wollongong, 2SM, 2UE, and Good Morning Australia.

Since 1994, Ron has co-presented Channel Ten’s News at Five, earning a reputation for professionalism, clarity, and warmth. Beyond news, he is a sought-after Master of Ceremonies, having hosted numerous high-profile events such as the Small Business of the Year Awards, NSW Young Australian of the Year Awards, and the National Airports Awards.

Ron also provides in-house media training for major corporations including Qantas and the Commonwealth Bank, as well as state and federal politicians. He has hosted the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal in Sydney for over ten years and is actively involved with the Variety Club of Australia and Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets, supporting charitable and community initiatives across Australia.
