Nick is an accomplished leader, Olympian and board director with extensive experience across global corporations, national sporting organisations, the public sector and not-for-profit organisations. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), he is widely respected for his governance expertise, strategic insight and commitment to high performance.
Nick currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Australian Sports Commission, is a member of its Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, and is a Director of an industry consulting firm. His leadership portfolio includes directorial roles with prominent organisations such as VicHealth, the Australian Olympic Committee, Commonwealth Games Australia, the Victorian Olympic Council and the Victorian Institute of Sport. He has also served as a Director of Leadership Victoria, contributing to the development of future leaders across sectors.
A dual Olympian in rowing, Nick’s elite sporting career includes Olympic and world championship success and involvement across ten Olympic Games—Summer and Winter—as an athlete, team leader and senior executive. His transition from elite athlete to industry specialist provides a rare perspective on leadership, culture and performance at the highest level.
Beyond sport, Nick has held senior executive roles including Director with a global insurance broker, Chief Executive Officer of a National Sporting Organisation (Cycling), and Chef de Mission for both the 2012 Australian Olympic Team and the 2010 Youth Olympic Team.
In recognition of his contribution to sport and leadership, Nick has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), the Australian Sports Medal (ASM) and the World Olympian Association post-nominal (OLY). He has been inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and holds life memberships with the Victorian Olympic Council and Rowing Australia.
A Fellow of Leadership Victoria (WCLP, 2004), Nick maintains a strong commitment to lifelong learning through further study at Melbourne University, Melbourne Business School and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Outside his professional work, he remains actively engaged in community and environmental initiatives. As a speaker, Nick brings clarity, credibility and real-world leadership lessons drawn from boardrooms, global events and elite sport.
