Nathan Sharpe is a former Australian Wallabies captain, renowned rugby union player, and now a highly respected leader in mining operations and corporate development. Over a 15-year elite sporting career, Nathan played more than 100 matches for the Wallabies, including 20 as captain, and competed in three Rugby World Cup campaigns. He retired in 2012 as Australia’s most-capped forward, having played 116 tests, and became the most-capped player in Super Rugby history with 154 games for the Queensland Reds and Western Force. Nathan’s exceptional performance earned him the prestigious John Eales Medal twice, recognising him as Wallaby Player of the Year.
Since retiring from rugby, Nathan has leveraged his extensive leadership experience into the mining industry. In 2021, he founded Talisman Partners, a mining operations and services company specialising in team cohesion and leadership development for mining and corporate organisations. Combining his operational knowledge, people leadership skills, and sporting achievements, Nathan helps build high-performing teams that excel under pressure.
Nathan is also deeply committed to community initiatives. He is an ambassador for the Modified Rugby Program (MRP), which empowers children with learning and perceptual difficulties through rugby, and Wallabies Travel Now. His insights on teamwork, resilience, and high-performance culture make him a highly sought-after speaker, respected globally for both his on-field excellence and engaging, approachable presence off the field.
