Nathan Hindmarsh is a former professional rugby league footballer and one of Australia’s most respected and admired athletes. A one-club man, Nathan captained the Parramatta Eels in the NRL, represented New South Wales in State of Origin for eight series, and played 20 matches for Australia, captaining the national team once.

Over his illustrious career, Nathan became renowned for his tireless work-rate, powerful hit-ups and faultless defence. He holds the record for being the only player to achieve a season average of more than 40 tackles and 100 running metres per game—not once, but five times—and in 2011 became the first player in rugby league history to record more than 10,000 tackles. In 2010, Nathan broke the record for most games with the Parramatta Eels and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2018. He also won the Provan-Summons Medal, awarded to the NRL’s most popular player, four years consecutively.

Off the field, Nathan is a passionate community advocate, particularly for children’s health and youth development. In 2009, he was awarded the Ken Stephens Medal for his outstanding contributions to the community and his role as a mentor and role model for young players and fans. Today, Nathan continues to dedicate his time to helping young people achieve more in life, sharing his experiences and insights as a motivational speaker and ambassador.
