Dr Marianne Broadbent is a globally recognised leadership advisor, executive educator and board director, working with leading corporations and government organisations on their most critical leadership, talent and capability challenges. She enables boards, CEOs, C-suite executives and senior leadership teams to build the strategic capability required to perform in complex, fast-changing environments.

Marianne has extensive experience in executive education, executive team facilitation and CEO advisory work. She works closely with boards and senior leaders to accelerate team effectiveness, support executive search and succession, and develop robust leadership capability at scale. Her work spans global enterprises, ASX-listed companies, private organisations and government.

Her career includes nine years at Gartner, where she held two global executive roles, including Senior Vice-President for Global Strategy and New Product Development and Group Vice-President of Gartner’s Executive Programs. In academia, Marianne was Associate Dean and Professor at Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, where she led the Senior Executive MBA and headed the School’s Key Centre for Technology Management. She has also been a Visiting Researcher at Boston University.

Marianne is a prolific writer and practice leader, with an extensive publication record including two Harvard Business School Press bestsellers and The Agile Executive: Embracing Career Risks and Rewards, described as compulsory reading for leaders aspiring to succeed in corporate life.

She holds a BA DipEd (University of Sydney), MA (Macquarie University), PhD (Melbourne Business School) and A.Mus.A. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a board member of The Conversation Media Group and the Melbourne Forum, and has been recognised as a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards.
