After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication, she began her career behind the scenes in television as a researcher and producer for major networks including Nine and the BBC, before moving on screen.

For more than a decade, Magdalena worked as a television presenter and meteorologist, presenting live broadcasts across breakfast and prime-time bulletins. Her on-screen roles included co-hosting Network Ten’s The Project, covering two Olympic Games, and reporting nationwide on some of the most significant natural disasters in Australian history. During her time at The Weather Channel, she accepted the ASTRA Award for Best News Coverage for reporting on the Black Saturday bushfires. Committed to scientific rigour, she later returned to university to complete a Graduate Diploma in Atmospheric Science.

Now based in Byron Bay, Magdalena has built a parallel career in food media driven by a deep passion for wholefoods and cooking. Her debut cookbook, Happy and Whole (2017), focuses on nourishing food and lifestyle, with a particular emphasis on postnatal nourishment and food for children. She regularly shares her recipes through cooking demonstrations, food festivals, brand collaborations and social media.

Magdalena has worked extensively as a food reviewer, contributing to publications including the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide, Delicious magazine, and writing a regular column, Kitchen Confidential, for The Daily Telegraph. She is also the co-founder and host of the food podcast The Pass, where she has worked closely with some of Australia’s leading chefs.

A sought-after MC and interviewer, Magdalena has hosted events around Australia and interviewed some of the world’s most influential culinary figures, including Nigella Lawson, Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal, Massimo Bottura, René Redzepi and Peter Gilmore. Passionate about environmental sustainability, she has been an ambassador for Planet Ark for almost a decade.

She also partners with some of Australia’s most trusted and loved brands as an ambassador and content creator, with clients including NIVEA, KitchenAid, Thermomix, Australian Eggs, Comvita, Australian Dairy, Fusion Health and Nerada.

In 2020, after more than two years of recipe testing, Magdalena and her business partner Katie Graham launched Oomite, a small-batch, handcrafted yeast spread made from 100 per cent real ingredients with no additives or artificial ingredients. Loved by chefs and families alike, Oomite is now featured on the menus of leading cafés and restaurants including Three Blue Ducks, Ethel Food Store and Barrio Byron Bay, with retail plans in development.
