Ivan Aristeguieta is a Venezuelan-born, award-winning comedian who has spent more than a decade calling Australia home. In that time, he’s become known for his hilarious, sharply observational comedy—whether he’s poking fun at the Aussie way of life, sharing his experiences as a Venezuelan immigrant, or celebrating the quirks of everyday life. Ivan’s humour blends unique perspective with infectious energy, earning him a devoted following across Australia and beyond.

Ivan’s comedy journey began after a life-changing event in Venezuela, when he was carjacked at gunpoint—a story he now recounts with signature wit and charm. Seeking a fresh start, he moved to Australia, embraced the culture, mastered the lingo, and quickly became a standout in the local comedy scene.

Over the past ten years, Ivan has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages—from South America to the US, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the UK. He’s a regular at major festivals and venues, and his name has become synonymous with top-tier comedy in Australia. His television appearances include Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Project, The Weekly, Hughesy, We Have A Problem, The Living Room, and multiple performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala (2016–2025).

Ivan’s stand-up shows have earned critical acclaim. His live show Piñata was nominated for Most Outstanding Comedy at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2021, and he has released three full-length comedy specials: Chorizo Sizzle (ABC iView), The Fourth Floor, and Happy Papi (Paramount+).

Beyond the stage, Ivan is a trained cook, food technologist, and proud food nerd. During the pandemic, he hosted the popular online cooking show About This Much – Live, combining food, fun, and chaos into an interactive cooking party. When he’s not touring, he’s often in the kitchen making his own chorizo or experimenting with new recipes.

From the stage to the kitchen, Ivan Aristeguieta’s zest for life and passion for storytelling are the cornerstones of his success. His comedy reflects a journey that has taken him from Venezuela to Australia—and everywhere in between.

He is also an experienced MC and keynote speaker.
