Geoff Jansz is one of Australia’s most respected chefs and food personalities, renowned for his modern, approachable style and deep respect for culinary traditions, seasonal produce, and regional identity. With a career spanning restaurants, television, publishing and farming, Geoff champions the philosophy that cooking and eating are best enjoyed as shared experiences, bringing friends and family together through fresh, wholesome ingredients.
Geoff has hosted Channel Nine’s What’s Cooking for seven years, Australia’s only national daily cooking programme at the time, which was also broadcast in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. He was also the food presenter on Burke’s Backyard and co-hosted Network Nine’s Fresh with Peter Evans and Lyndey Milan. A respected food journalist, Geoff has contributed to Australian Gourmet Traveller and House and Garden, highlighting Australia’s best produce and local food industries.
Geoff’s career began while he was a university student with the opening of his first restaurant in Picton, NSW, followed by his second, the landmark country restaurant Aviemore. In 2001, he opened the Geoff Jansz Food Store in Bowral, NSW, sourcing produce from his own farm and showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients alongside his own range of products. Geoff also runs a cooking school on his Southern Highlands property, where he continues to inspire Australians to embrace fresh, seasonal, and sustainable cooking.
He is the author of three books: Taking the Freshest Approach, Favourite Recipes, and Geoff Jansz Desserts, further cementing his reputation as a leading voice in Australian cuisine.
