Elton Flatley is a former Wallabies vice-captain and one of Australia’s most memorable rugby players. On November 22, 2003, in front of 82,000 fans and a worldwide TV audience of 120 million, he landed two angled penalty goals in the Rugby World Cup final against England, keeping Australia’s hopes alive for back-to-back titles.

Over a distinguished career spanning more than ten seasons, Elton played 39 Tests for the Wallabies and 112 Super Rugby matches for the Queensland Reds. He holds the record for the fastest try in Rugby World Cup history — scored just 18 seconds after kickoff against Romania in 2003 — and became the youngest player to reach 100 caps for Queensland in 2004.

Since retiring in 2006 due to concussion, Elton has transitioned into the financial sector, working with Westpac and BT Financial Group while completing his Diploma in Financial Studies. He remains a passionate rugby commentator and ambassador for the ARU.
