Born in Emerald, Queensland, Cameron began his journalism career in 1984 as a cadet at the Courier-Mail in Brisbane. He then moved to The Australian, writing sports features and columns before joining the Seven Network in 1988. At Seven, he presented Seven News, hosted Sportsworld, and called Matt Ryan’s equestrian double gold for Australia at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

In 1996, Cameron became the face of Fox Sports, anchoring NRL coverage, the Dally M Awards, Super 12 Rugby, Wimbledon, the Winter Olympics, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, and Fox Sports News. He also spent time as the breakfast announcer at 2HD Newcastle before joining the Nine Network’s Today Show in 2006.

At Nine, Cameron has covered major events including horse racing, the Vancouver Winter Olympics (2010), the London Olympics (2012), and one of Australia’s biggest national disasters—the 2010 Queensland floods—alongside Karl Stefanovic. After ten years with Nine, he succeeded Ken Sutcliffe as sport presenter for Nine News Sydney and regularly fills in on Today.

Off camera, Cameron enjoys life with his wife Natasha and their two children, Arkie and Remy, balancing a busy career with family time.
