Anna Rose is an Australian author, activist, and environmentalist, and the National Manager for Earth Hour with WWF-Australia. She is widely recognised for her leadership in climate action, being named Australian Geographic Society’s Conservationist of the Year (2015), and for growing Earth Hour into a global movement celebrated in over 172 countries, with one in three Australians participating.
Anna’s work spans grassroots advocacy, public engagement, and innovative initiatives such as the world-first Planet to Plate cookbook, which brought together celebrity chefs, farmers, and scientific insights to highlight the impact of climate change on food systems. She is also known for her book Madland: A Journey to Change the Mind of a Climate Sceptic, which chronicles her journey to help former Finance Minister Nick Minchin accept the science of climate change, and her co-starring role in the ABC documentary I Can Change Your Mind on Climate Change.
Previously, Anna co-founded and chaired the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC), now one of Australia’s largest youth organisations, and has served as a Churchill Fellow. She is a Director of Solar Citizens, Green Music Australia, the Australian Geographic Society, and the University of Queensland Global Change Institute, and has been recognised by the Sydney Morning Herald as one of Sydney’s 100 most influential people.
