With 15 years’ experience as a news and current affairs TV Reporter, Alexis Daish is currently a Senior Journalist for Nine’s A Current Affair.

At 19 years of age, Alexis started working as an Intern for the Nine Network whilst studying a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) at Melbourne University. She began full-time as a researcher/producer for A Current Affair before transitioning into the 6pm newsroom as a Reporter. Being on the 6am shift meant Alexis was frequently sent to big crimes scenes which had unfolded overnight, and she gained a keen interest in all stories related to crime. In 2015, Alexis became Nine’s Crime Reporter. Alexis went on to cover some of Australia’s biggest stories – the Bourke Street mall massacre, the murder of Karen Ristevski, the Flinders Street Car Attack and deadly bushfires across regional Victoria.

In 2018, Alexis was deployed to the United States where she became the Network’s Foreign Correspondent covering stories in the US, South America and Canada. Whilst on assignment overseas, Alexis covered major events including Harvey Weinstein’s Criminal Trial, the Covid-19 pandemic in New York, the 2020 Election, the police shooting death of Australian woman Justine Ruszczyk in Minnesota and riots in LA. Alexis secured a world exclusive for 60 Minutes when she interviewed Tara Reade who accused Joe Biden of sexual assault during his 2020 campaign. Alexis also crossed the Mexican border, entering Tijuana’s biggest refugee camp – exposing life inside the camp for those caught up in America’s immigration crisis.

Alexis was awarded Young Journalist of the year by the Melbourne Press Club and in 2016 won a Walkley Award for the TV Young Journalist of the Year. In 2018, Alexis won another Quill Award for her reporting on the murder of Avondale Heights mother Karen Ristevski.

The Walkley-Award winning journalist has returned to Australia and is now a Senior Reporter with A Current Affair, focussing on longer-format stories that matter to Australia.
