Liz Deep-Jones is an established journalist, television presenter, author, media commentator and public speaker, with over two decades of experience in Australian media. She was Executive Producer of SBS TV’s first locally produced national in-language news program, Mandarin News Australia, and produced the 2012 Deadly Awards celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander achievement in music, sport, entertainment and community.
Liz began her television career at SBS in 1996, hosting the nightly live national sports news program Toyota World Sports for nearly ten years, and became the first female journalist to deliver sports news updates on On the Ball. She has produced and presented The Glamour Game, reported for Living Black, Al Jazeera, and covered major international sporting events including the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Sydney 2000 Olympics.
A highly experienced and approachable MC, Liz has hosted corporate and charity events for clients including Optus, ASMA, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Sydney FC and the Australian Tennis Open, and has welcomed VIPs such as the Kalon Tripa, Dr Lobsang Sangay. She has also authored two internationally successful children’s books, Lucy Zeezou’s Goal and Lucy Zeezou’s Glamour Game.
Liz combines professionalism, warmth and stage presence with deep knowledge of media, sport and current affairs, making her a trusted host, facilitator and speaker for audiences of all sizes. She is also a UNICEF Australia and Sydney FC ambassador, passionately supporting children’s rights and community initiatives.
