Katerina Kimmorley is a globally recognised impact entrepreneur, climate advocate, and venture capitalist whose pioneering work addresses both global poverty and climate change. With a deep commitment to social justice and sustainability, she combines technological innovation, strategic investment, and community impact to drive meaningful change.

Katerina founded Pollinate Energy (now Pollinate Group), which became the largest provider of solar lighting to slum communities in India and Nepal. Within six years, Pollinate Energy had supplied over 27,200 environmentally efficient products, reaching more than 123,600 individuals across 970 communities. Her work provided safe, renewable energy solutions while building sustainable distribution and financing models for underserved populations.

Following her success with Pollinate Energy, Katerina joined the founding team of the Innovation Fund, the world’s largest cleantech venture capital fund, and later launched the Impact Fund, a climate-focused VC fund aimed at accelerating Australia’s transition to net-zero emissions. In the aftermath of Australia’s 2019–20 bushfires, she became a leading voice on how businesses and communities can rebuild stronger and cleaner, positioning Australia as a future clean-energy superpower.

An economist and engineer by training, Katerina studied photovoltaic engineering and was awarded a Chevening Scholarship to complete her Master’s and PhD in Environmental Economics and Climate Change at the London School of Economics (LSE). She has also worked in management consulting, energy markets, and photovoltaic engineering, and has advised the NSW Premier on renewable energy and climate policy.

Katerina’s achievements have been recognised internationally. She has been named one of the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence, awarded the Prince Charles Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize, and honoured as the LSE Entrepreneur of the Year. Pollinate Group won the UN Momentum for Change Award, highlighting its global impact.

Today, Katerina is Head of Commercial and Investments at Boundless and serves on the NSW Net Zero Emissions & Clean Economy Board, helping to shape Australia’s clean-tech future. A sought-after speaker, she shares her expertise with organisations, universities, and conferences worldwide, covering climate entrepreneurship, impact investment, and the next generation of clean technology ventures.
