James Chin Moody is a pioneering technology and sustainability leader, and the Cofounder and President of Sendle within the newly formed FAST Group—the strategic merger of ACI Logistix, Firstmile and Sendle. Operating across three countries and delivering to more than 200, FAST Group leverages a national network of over five million delivery drivers.

James previously served as Sendle’s co-founder and CEO, building it into the first 100% carbon-neutral parcel delivery service in both Australia and the United States, and empowering small businesses with simple, reliable and affordable shipping.

An accomplished senior executive and board member, James spent eight years on the Executive Team at CSIRO, leading business development, government relations, international engagement and strategic foresight. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Systems Engineer for FedSat—Australia’s first satellite launch in three decades.

James has contributed his expertise to advisory and government boards including Westpac, GE, the National Australia Day Council, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australia Indonesia Institute. He has also served as Australia’s National Commissioner for UNESCO and as a Trustee of the Australian Museum.

A recognised authority on innovation, sustainability and the circular economy, James co-authored The Sixth Wave: How to Succeed in a Resource-Limited World, published internationally in four languages. For seven years he was a regular panellist and judge on ABC TV’s The New Inventors, and has held leadership roles within the World Economic Forum’s Global Councils, including Co-Chair of the Global Future Council on Digital Economy and Society.

James holds a PhD in innovation theory (ANU), engineering and IT degrees from QUT (including the University Medal), and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University. His accolades include Young Australian of the Year in Science and Technology, AFR Boss Young Executive of the Year, Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and one of Australia’s Top 100 Most Influential Engineers.
