A highly accomplished writer, actor, and stand-up comedian. Denise Scott has appeared in some of Australia’s most beloved television series, including Please Like Me, Jack Irish, Winners and Losers, and House Husbands. In 2025, Denise returns to screens in Season 2 of Mother and Son alongside Matt Okine.

A doyenne of Australian comedy, Denise has earned numerous accolades for her work. Her solo show Regrets won both a Helpmann Award and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Director’s Choice Award, while Mother Bare earned her the Festival’s Most Outstanding Show award.

In recent years, she has toured extensively with fellow comedian Judith Lucy. Their show Disappointments was a national hit, winning the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award and selling out theatres across the country.

A favourite on Australian television, Denise is a regular guest on panel shows such as Spicks and Specks, The Project, and Have You Been Paying Attention?. She is also the much-loved narrator of the Nine Network’s hit series Travel Guides, now entering its 9th season.
