Anthony Field AM is best known as the beloved Blue Wiggle and a founding member of The Wiggles, the world’s most successful children’s entertainment group. As the group’s musical producer and creative director, Anthony has been at the helm of their extraordinary global success for more than three decades.

Anthony’s career began in the 1980s as a founding member of the chart-topping band The Cockroaches. After the tragic loss of his infant niece in 1988, the band disbanded, prompting Anthony to return to university to complete a Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Macquarie University — a decision that ultimately inspired the creation of The Wiggles. Blending his passion for music with early childhood development, he recorded a children’s album as part of his studies. The project not only helped him secure a preschool teaching role but became the foundation of a phenomenon that would transform children’s entertainment worldwide.

Since forming in 1991, The Wiggles have sold more than 23 million videos and DVDs, 7 million albums, toured across 140+ countries, and performed more live shows than The Rolling Stones over the same period. The group continues to reinvent itself each year, producing around 20 hours of new content across television, music, digital platforms and community outreach, cementing their place as one of Australia’s most trusted and enduring cultural icons.

Their impact has led to long-standing partnerships with major organisations including Dreamworld, BabyLove, Medibank, Volkswagen, UNICEF, SIDS and Kids, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Soldier On and many more. In recognition of their contribution to children’s entertainment and philanthropy, The Wiggles have received honorary doctorates from both Australian Catholic University and Macquarie University, were named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, and in 2010, Anthony and his co-founders were appointed Members of the Order of Australia (AM).

Beyond The Wiggles, Anthony is widely known as the host of RSPCA Animal Rescue, which aired four highly successful seasons on the Seven Network. He also served in the Australian Army from 1982 to 1985 as an infantry soldier and piper with the 5/7 Royal Australian Regiment, and has since been awarded the Australian Defence Medal.

Anthony is an ambassador for the Australian Spinal Research Foundation and a spokesperson for Anaphylaxis Australia, inspired by his son Antonio’s nut allergy. In 2012 he released his bestselling book, How I Got My Wiggle Back, chronicling his journey overcoming chronic pain, depression and illness through fitness, nutrition and lifestyle transformation — a renewed focus that allows him to continue performing at the highest level.

With an unwavering passion for children’s education, music and wellbeing, Anthony Field continues to shape the Wiggles legacy — and has no plans to stop wiggling any time soon.
