He has worked with leading organisations worldwide, including Microsoft, AMP, BNP Paribas, Macquarie Bank, Deutsche Bank, the NSW Bar Association, the OECD, and the United Nations. His consulting spans strategic planning, corporate restructures, mergers, and policy facilitation, while his training expertise includes negotiation, dispute management, facilitation, presentation skills, and leadership development.
Allan is the author and co-author of Switch on Your Brain, The Negotiator’s Toolkit, and Beyond Yes – Negotiating and Networking, and in 2012 developed Australia’s first degree in Negotiation for the Australian Catholic University. He has held an Adjunct Professorship at the University of Western Sydney, contributed to its Masters of Dispute Resolution, and serves on the Board of the Australian Dispute Resolution Association (ADRA), receiving Honorary Life Membership in 2013.
His contributions to the speaking profession have been recognised with the National Speakers Association of Australia’s Educator of the Year Excellence Award (2009) and the Nevin Award (2012), Australia’s highest professional speakers’ honour. In 2019, he was awarded the Order of Australia (OAM) for his services to business and dispute resolution.
Allan’s diverse background in health, adult education, counselling, social communication, and dispute resolution, combined with his personal achievements as a scratch golfer and endurance athlete (16 marathons and 11 ultra marathons, including two 24-hour events), informs his dynamic, spontaneous, and engaging presentation style.
