Wayne Pearce’s journey from humble beginnings in Balmain to international rugby league success is one of Australia’s great sporting stories. A respected player and coach, Wayne’s achievements include being voted Players’ Player of the Tour on the undefeated 1982 “Invincibles” Kangaroo Tour, winning the Harry Sunderland Medal in 1984 as Australia’s best player against Great Britain, and captaining New South Wales to the first-ever State of Origin clean sweep in 1986.
In 2000, he became the only person in State of Origin history to both captain and coach a series clean sweep. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wayne played a pivotal role in leading the NRL’s Project Apollo, helping guide the game through one of its most challenging periods.
Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1988 for his service to rugby league and the community, Wayne remains deeply involved in the sport as an inaugural member of the Australian Rugby League Commission.
Today, Wayne channels his passion for high performance into the corporate world through Wayne Pearce Advantage. Drawing on the latest research in psychology and neuroscience, he works with organisations to build cultures where individuals and teams strive for excellence.
An innovator and lifelong learner, Wayne continues to refine his programs to ensure measurable, sustainable performance outcomes — helping organisations move from simply “doing the job” to performing at their very best.

Extensive research has identified the fundamental building blocks of mental fitness as a positive mindset, emotional regulation, strong social support and a connection to one’s purpose. In this program, Wayne shares his insights on resilience in a highly interactive and energising session that leaves the audience inspired to practice the tips they receive.
Personal Success Program
A lot of decent, hardworking men and women travel through life wondering why they don’t get the results their effort deserves. Although hard work is important, effort alone won’t guarantee peak performance. Personal success is a matter of knowing what, when and how to use special triggers in our life. Unfortunately, much of this information is never taught in our schools or colleges. Imagine how productive your workplace would be if all your employees could realise their true potential.
