Tony Squires is one of Australia’s most popular and experienced media personalities, as well as a highly sought-after corporate entertainer, speaker, MC and quiz master.

Best known as host of Fox Sports’ weekly panel show Back Page and for his long-standing presence across Triple M’s radio network, Tony is renowned for his warmth, quick wit and ability to talk about just about anything — particularly sport.

Originally from Newcastle, Tony has built a diverse career spanning stage, music, radio and television, often collaborating with fellow Novocastrians Mikey Robins, Steve “The Sandman” Abbott and John Doyle (aka Roy Slaven). After famously missing out on NIDA, Tony channelled his theatrical ambitions into media, carving out a distinctive voice in sports broadcasting and entertainment.

His television career includes creating Inside the Arena for Foxtel, hosting the cult ABC sports panel show The Fat, and later fronting Seven Network’s 110% Tony Squires. He has also hosted Seven’s Athens Olympic coverage and the One Day Cricket series in England alongside Stuart MacGill and Kerry O’Keeffe. Tony has presented sport on Seven’s 6pm News, appeared on Sunday Night, and co-hosted Sydney’s Vega 95.3FM breakfast show.

A respected journalist, Tony has worked as a feature writer, columnist and section editor at The Sydney Morning Herald, where he edited The Guide and served as deputy sports editor. He has written for major newspapers and magazines nationwide, including a year-long pop culture column for The Sunday Telegraph. In 2009, he published Cracking the Footy Codes, a tongue-in-cheek guide to understanding AFL, rugby league, rugby union and football.

Tony has hosted major live events, including the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and is a favourite in corporate settings for his sharp humour and effortless audience engagement. A passionate — if long-suffering — St George Illawarra Dragons supporter, he is also an ambassador for the Sydney Swans, delivering his popular “Week in Sport” segment to Chairman’s Club guests at home games.

With decades of media experience and a natural flair for live performance, Tony brings intelligence, humour and professionalism to every event.

Tony was absolutely brilliant as the MC for the kick-off and made a huge difference to the success of the event. He spent a great deal of time and effort getting to know all the presenters, so when he interviewed them on stage it was as if he knew them all personally. He was extremely entertaining, funny and amusing, and probably the best MC I've seen. Signal Media
Tony Squires was extremely down to earth and professional. With more than the normal amount of last minute changes, he was still cool calm and collected and never without a smile. The quality of his speaking and quick wit was appreciated by all present and I believe Tony went above and beyond what was required of him. Will definitely be using Tony again in the future and recommending him to colleagues and peers alike. Managing Australian Destinations
From the moment you took that stage my nerves settled. I could see that you had done your homework on ARA (not even I read the Retail Trader Magazine) and had customised your content. For me your performance was always going to be the Linchpin for the evening and this certainly proved to be true. Many people commented on the high energy, up beat feel of the awards dinner and that it was a fun night. This can only be attributed to you, Tony, as you delivered a slick awards presentation peppered with your very tailored awards jokes. Many people phoned and emailed and your performance as MC is on top of their list of compliments. Australian Retail Awards
