Tim Shaw is an award-winning journalist with over 20 years’ experience in television and radio presenting and production. He is a highly respected Master of Ceremonies and keynote speaker, known for his professionalism, boundless energy, and engaging style.
Tim became host of Canberra’s 2CC Breakfast Radio in January 2016, is a member of the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery, and serves as a Director of the National Press Club of Australia. In 2017, he was awarded Best Current Affairs Presenter at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
Prior to Canberra, Tim was the Thailand-based correspondent and senior journalist for the Seven Network Australia, and hosted The Tim Shaw Show on Sydney radio 2GB. He has also presented Legal Matters and nationally broadcast overnight programs on Sydney radio 2UE. His guests have included Australian Prime Ministers, business leaders, and figures from politics, arts, science, and culture.
Tim’s television experience spans all commercial networks in Australia, with appearances on current affairs programs including Today Tonight and My Business. He also coordinated media operations at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games for a global audience.
Tim studied a BA in Media with a major in Indigenous Cultural Studies at Macquarie University and was a foundation student of its Indigenous Studies Program. He has served as an Australia Day Ambassador since 1995. Drawing on decades of experience, Tim delivers dynamic and informative presentations, making him the ideal host, MC, conference convenor, or after-dinner speaker across the Asia Pacific region.
