Tashi Tenzing is an internationally renowned explorer, mountaineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, who, alongside Sir Edmund Hillary, made the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. Living in Kathmandu, Nepal, Tashi has devoted his life to adventure, exploration, and giving back to his community.

He has summited Everest three times—1997, 2002, and 2007—guiding historic expeditions, including the first Czech women to the summit. In 1993, he led the 40th Anniversary Everest Expedition in tribute to his grandfather’s historic climb. Beyond Everest, Tashi has trekked extensively throughout the Himalaya and completed five successful crossings of South Georgia, also contributing as an explorer and researcher for the Australian Antarctic Division at Mawson Station.

Tashi and his wife, Bandi Nima Sherpa, are founders of Tenzing Asian Holidays, a private adventure company, and the Nepal Green Tara Foundation, which has built five schools and a health clinic to support low-caste and underprivileged children in Nepal while promoting environmental sustainability.

Tashi’s engaging storytelling, resilience, and extraordinary achievements make him a sought-after motivational speaker for corporate audiences and charitable events worldwide. He has authored Tenzing and the Sherpas of Everest, a book highlighting the critical contributions of Sherpas to Himalayan mountaineering.

Tashi has been recognized globally with numerous awards, including the National Citizen’s Award from the President of India, and has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for Rolex, Multiplex & Brookfield Developers, Amari Hotels, Toyota Nepal, and as the Australian Goodwill Brand Ambassador for Nepal.
