Working with Steve and his team, we brought staff together across divisions and asked them what we needed to improve. The employees drove the process and the focus areas that we are now working to develop. They are working together as one team and have an underlying sense of achievement in everything we do. The culture journey so far has been transformational for the entire company, and it has brought people together. The outlook for SBS is more positive than it was 18 months ago, employees are happier, and we are achieving more success. SBS
The ‘One Story’ was most probably one of the best ideas that you have suggested to us and your guidance in this regard is appreciated. We have used it to create shared meaning of what the acquisition means and what the vision for the bank is. It helped to align the integration teams and focused their energy on the task at hand. Something I need to thank you for is the unofficial work you have done as facilitator to develop balance and understanding between the Absa and Barclays team members of the Culture Work Stream. You were able to take a third position and guided us through conflict and misunderstanding. ABSA/Barclays
