Former UK Detective Chief Inspector Robin Napper is a global expert in forensic policing, DNA-driven crime investigation, and law enforcement innovation. Trained in traditional policing methods, Robin became a leading advocate for scientific and forensically based crime investigation, revolutionising approaches to criminal detection and cold-case review.
Robin was at the forefront of the DNA revolution in the UK, serving as Head of Operations at Britain’s National Crime Faculty, where he developed a national database of top investigators and specialists and participated in high-profile operations using DNA to reopen unsolved cases. In 1998, he was seconded to Australia as a Detective Superintendent with NSW Police, where he introduced DNA technology nationwide and consulted to both Federal and State governments.
Beyond Australia, Robin has advised Singapore, Thailand, and Middle Eastern countries on DNA implementation and remains a trusted consultant for complex homicide investigations globally. He later served as Director of Marketing & Development at the University of Western Australia’s Centre for Forensic Science until 2006 and has shared his expertise on national television, including ABC TV’s Can We Help.
