Richard Wilkins is one of Australia’s most respected and recognisable media personalities, with a career spanning over four decades in television, radio, journalism, and live event hosting. Born in New Zealand, Richard moved to Australia in 1980 and quickly established himself as the host of MTV Australia, a six-year run that cemented his place as one of the country’s most dynamic and trusted media figures.
For more than 20 years, Richard has been at the forefront of Australasian television, serving as Network Nine’s Entertainment Editor, filing reports for the Today Show, A Current Affair, and other prime-time programs. His work as a journalist and interviewer has seen him speak with virtually every major international star, including Billy Connolly, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Olivia Newton-John, Britney Spears, Barbara Streisand, and Barry Humphries/Dame Edna, among countless others.
