A two-time Walkley Award winner, he is known for his investigative reporting on police corruption and terrorism and is the author of Prisoner X. Raf Epstein is an award-winning investigative journalist and seasoned broadcaster with more than 30 years of experience reporting on stories of national and international significance. He currently presents Mornings on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne, airing weekdays from 8:30–11am.

Raf’s journalism career has taken him from the suburbs of Melbourne to some of the world’s most challenging reporting environments, including the Thredbo landslide disaster, East Timor’s vote for independence, war crimes proceedings in the Balkans, and the papal conclave in Vatican City. His in-depth reporting has earned him two Walkley Awards, recognising his investigations into police corruption in Victoria and exposing flaws in an Australian Federal Police terrorism investigation.

He is also the author of Prisoner X, a compelling account of a Melbourne man who became an Israeli spy, further demonstrating his commitment to rigorous, high-impact storytelling.

Raf joined 774 ABC Radio Melbourne as Drive host in 2012 and took over as Mornings presenter in 2023. He is highly respected for his incisive reporting, integrity, and ability to connect with audiences through informed and engaging conversation.
