Patsy Tierney is a two-time World Aerobic Champion, seven-time Australian Aerobic Champion, former Ms Fitness Australasia, and current Australian Sport Aerobic Team Coach. Undefeated for five consecutive years, she achieved world number one status after claiming a remarkable string of international titles, including the 1998 World Cup in Tokyo and the Professional World Championships in São Paulo, Brazil.

Before reaching the top of her sport, Patsy endured repeated near-misses at the highest level, winning five silver medals at World Championships—twice missing gold by just half a point. Rather than allowing disappointment to derail her career, she transformed it into motivation. Her perseverance was ultimately rewarded in 1998 when she captured gold at the prestigious Suzuki World Cup in Tokyo, cementing her place among the world’s elite athletes.

Patsy’s success was built on extraordinary discipline and commitment. She trained four to five hours a day, six days a week, for routines lasting less than two minutes. Her demanding regime included running and sprint work, gymnastics, weight training, flexibility, anaerobic conditioning, and extreme strength training designed to push well beyond physical and mental limits. This relentless preparation shaped her defining philosophy: never give in.

Now a highly respected coach and choreographer, Patsy leads the Australian Sport Aerobic Team and has guided her athletes to numerous international medals. She is the personal coach and choreographer of the current world number one, Lauren Farrey, and is recognised globally as one of the leading sport aerobic choreographers. Athletes from around the world travel to Australia each year to train under her guidance and perform her award-winning routines.

Beyond elite sport, Patsy continues to demonstrate excellence and balance across all areas of life. In her final year of a law degree, she works extensively in the fitness industry, teaching up to 14 guest classes per week and mentoring others to achieve their personal best in health, fitness, and performance. She was previously named by Cosmopolitan Magazine as one of the Top 30 Most Successful People Under 30.

As a speaker, Patsy Tierney delivers a powerful message about persistence, resilience, and peak performance—drawing on lived experience from the very highest levels of international competition.
