Quick Contact
Mike House is one of Australia’s leading survival instructors and a highly experienced facilitator, with over 20 years guiding individuals and groups through extreme environments. He has worked with at-risk youth, multinational corporations, and television documentary crews on challenges described as “the world’s most arduous survival exercise outside the military” (National Geographic America, 1999).
Mike has survived life-threatening situations in tropical jungles, raging white-water, the open ocean, and extended sea kayak expeditions. He has also undertaken solo survival journeys, including a 12-day trek in one of Australia’s most hostile landscapes, relying entirely on his skills to source food and water from the land. Drawing on these experiences, Mike helps people understand human behaviour under pressure and teaches how to adapt, thrive, and lead in challenging circumstances.
Raised on a farm in south-west Western Australia, Mike learned survival and leadership from the bush, his father, and the wisdom of Noongar elders. He now shares these lessons with audiences, translating survival instincts into practical strategies for business, teamwork, resilience, and personal growth. Mike also brings a sense of adventure and creativity to his work, including building a two-seat open-cockpit plane from scratch in his spare time.
