Melissa has been gracing Australian television screens for over 20 years, earning acclaim as a lifestyle, gardening, and travel presenter. She is currently one of the stars of Channel 7’s top-rating lifestyle program, Better Homes and Gardens, bringing warmth, expertise, and inspiration to audiences nationwide.
Melissa’s television career spans a wide range of iconic programs, including ABC’s Gardening Australia, which recently celebrated 30 years on-air, Channel Nine’s Battlefronts, where she transformed front gardens, Foxtel’s Garden Angels, and Garden Gurus on Channel Nine, which has run for over two decades. She also showcased extraordinary travel destinations in Gurus Explore, and appeared as a gardening and lifestyle host on Melbourne Weekender, as well as a regular guest on Channel 10’s live morning show The Circle.
Melissa began her career in writing, radio, and gardening presenting, later expanding into voice-over work and screenwriting. She is a graduate of the Louise Talmadge Film Industry Acting School, with additional training from Victorian College of the Arts tutors, NIDA short courses, and TV Acting programs with Suzan Johnston.
An accomplished author, Melissa wrote Garden Feast, a garden-to-table book published by ABC Books and nominated for a Le Cordon Bleu world food media award. She has contributed articles to Gardening Australia Magazine, Your Garden Magazine, The Age, Herald Sun, The Australian Gardener Magazine, Burke’s Backyard Magazine, and Good Organic Gardening Magazine.
Melissa is also a highly sought-after MC and speaker, hosting events such as the Telstra Golden Plate Awards, Deaf/Blind Association Charity Gala, Hair and Beauty Industry Awards, and Parks and Leisure Australia Awards of Excellence. She has led garden and culinary tours across Europe, North America, New Zealand, and Australia, and regularly appears on the Logies red carpet, reflecting her enduring interest in fashion, health, and beauty.
