A multi-award-winning journalist, Mark Gibson has been a reporter and presenter across television and radio since 1991. He is a highly sought-after MC and a compelling corporate speaker.

Whether reading prime-time TV news, reporting from international disaster zones, interviewing everyday Australians or rubbing shoulders with Hollywood celebrities, Mark is a gifted and versatile broadcaster and storyteller.

Mark Gibson is the host of the ABC Radio Breakfast program in Perth, WA.

After completing the Broadcasting course at WAAPA in 1991, Mark cut his teeth in Sydney and Melbourne media, before returning to Perth in 2001. He spent the following two decades as a leading reporter and presenter at Channel Seven across news, current affairs, sport and weather. He also drew high praise for his presenting role on Telethon, the most successful televised charity event in the world.

In 2020, Mark returned to radio, hosting various talkback programs on 6PR, before taking on the prestigious role of Breakfast host on 720 ABC Perth in January 2024.

Mark is also a highly sought-after master of ceremonies, with clients ranging from football clubs to mining companies, government departments, health and aged care providers, universities, charities and not-for-profits.

Known as an engaging all-rounder, Mark’s impressive list of events includes the Sandover Medal, West Coast Eagles’ John Worsfold Medal, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, WA Architecture Awards, the Black Diamond Ball for Lifeline WA, the Youth Focus Charity Ball, WA Good Food Guide Awards, the WA Football Hall of Fame, as well as various events and fundraisers for Telethon and Dementia Australia.

Dementia is an issue very close to Mark’s heart. Following the death of his beloved grandmother from Alzheimer’s Disease, in 2019 he became an ambassador for Dementia Australia.

A compelling speaker, Mark passionately shares his family’s experience caring for a loved one with dementia – watching a healthy, vibrant, articulate woman descend into fear and confusion because of an incurable, often misunderstood illness. His powerful presentation has proven invaluable to audiences including healthcare professionals and everyday families.
