Marcia Griffin is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, and sought-after speaker with a passion for empowering individuals to reach their full potential. A trailblazer in both business and leadership, she made history as the first Telstra Victorian Business Woman of the Year and as the first woman to run a Japanese company in Australia.
Throughout her distinguished career, Marcia has built and led multiple businesses, including growing a direct selling company from the ground up to a team of nearly 5,000 members and founding her own natural skincare brand. A highly respected board member, Marcia has held leadership roles in several high-profile organisations, including PMP, National Pharmacies, Melbourne Storm, and The Queen Victoria Market. She was also the first female chair of the leadership mentoring organisation, TEC.
In her early career, Marcia worked with the Australian Wool Corporation, where she travelled globally, researching and analysing demand for Australian wool. After obtaining a BA, Dip.Ed., B.Com, and a preliminary MBA from Melbourne University, she took on the entrepreneurial challenge of establishing Pola Cosmetics in Australia and New Zealand. As CEO and part-owner, Marcia led the company’s sales team to success, eventually winning the Telstra Victorian Business Woman of the Year award in 1995.
After selling her shares in Pola Cosmetics, Marcia founded griffin+row in 2008, a natural skincare company that revolutionised the online retail space. She is now an active investor in start-ups, including tailorsmark.com, and continues to mentor young entrepreneurs.
Marcia is also a celebrated author. Her first book, High Heeled Success, remains in its third print, while Finding Meaning in Life, co-authored with a psychologist, discusses the intersection of mental health, resilience, and success. In 2016, Marcia teamed up with Dr. Paul McQuillan to publish Finding New Meaning in Life, a unique “bookazine” combining business insights with the philosophy of renowned psychiatrist Viktor Frankl.
