Lyndey Milan OAM is a globally recognised food, wine and lifestyle authority, celebrated for her ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, accessible and entertaining experiences. Awarded Best in the World Food TV Show at the Gourmand World Awards in 2016, Lyndey has played a significant role in shaping how Australians and international audiences think and feel about food and wine.

A successful businesswoman, Lyndey and her partner John Caldon are co-founders of Flame Media, an international television production and distribution company specialising in high-quality factual entertainment and documentary content, and Flame Studio Kitchen, a purpose-built television studio and post-production facility.

Highly engaging, energetic and authoritative, Lyndey is in constant demand as a presenter, host and MC for events involving food and wine, from intimate gatherings of home cooks to audiences of serious wine connoisseurs. A familiar face across television, radio and print, she was an award-winning radio presenter and Food Director of The Australian Women’s Weekly from 1999 to 2008, and later Associate Food Director for BBC Australian Good Food magazine.

From 2000 to 2008, Lyndey co-hosted Fresh on the Nine Network, welcoming visiting chefs including Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and Gordon Ramsay. She was a weekly guest on Mornings with Kerri-Anne from 2005 to 2011 and remains a popular regular on the Nine Network’s The Morning Show.

Lyndey’s international television appearances include Saturday Kitchen (UK), the NBC Today Show during the Sydney Olympics, appearances alongside Anthony Bourdain, and Rick Stein’s Seafood Odyssey. Since 2011, she has hosted multiple television series broadcast globally, including Lyndey Milan’s Taste of Australia, Taste of Ireland, Lyndey’s Cracking Christmas, Lyndey & Herbie’s Moveable Feast, Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece and Inside Lyndey’s Kitchen.

A best-selling author, Lyndey has written several acclaimed cookbooks, including Lyndey Milan’s Taste of Australia, which won Best TV Chef Cookbook in the World (English language) and Best Culinary Travel Book in Australia at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in 2014. The book was later awarded Best of the Best of the past 20 years at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Lyndey is a long-standing contributor to Selector magazine and serves as food editor of The Carousel. She also runs a successful consultancy offering cooking demonstrations, food and wine education and advisory services, and in 2016 launched Lyndey Milan Baking, an innovative and accessible baking range.

Her leadership roles have included Vice President of the Royal Agricultural Society, Chair of the Sydney Royal Wine Show and Chair of the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show. She is a patron and co-founder of Tasting Success, a mentoring programme for female chefs, a founding board member of Women in Hospitality, and a member of Tourism Australia’s Food and Wine Advisory Committee.

Lyndey’s honours include the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2014 for service to hospitality, the food and wine industry and the community, and the Vittoria Legend Award. She was also a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards (NSW).

Highly sought after, Lyndey appears regularly at food and wine shows, masterclasses and corporate events as a facilitator, debater, judge and MC.
