Khaled Khalafalla is an award-winning comedian whose fresh, intelligent social commentary has already created a buzz on the Australian comedy circuit. He won Best of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2013, was National Winner of the Green Faces comedy competition in 2012, and National Runner-Up of RAW in 2011. The Age has dubbed him the next “huge mainstream star.”
Having lived in 11 cities across three countries, Khaled brings a global perspective to his comedy. He has performed alongside Arj Barker and Fiona O’Loughlin in venues ranging from Melbourne Town Hall to Sydney’s Allphones Arena, and sold out his Melbourne and Sydney Fringe Festival debut seasons.
Khaled has appeared on ABC3’s Studio 3, created Australia’s first non-alcoholic comedy room, Shisha Comedy, and filmed a stand-up special for SBS’s Stand Up at Bella Union. He has performed at all major Australian comedy festivals, toured internationally—including the Middle East as part of the televised United Nations of Comedy tour—and debuted at the New York Comedy Festival. He was also hand-picked by Just For Laughs to perform on their Stand Up Series showcase at the Sydney Opera House.
In his first acting role, Khaled co-starred in the feature film Ali’s Wedding, working alongside Don Hany and Osamah Sami under award-winning director Jeffrey Walker.
