Ken Sutcliffe is one of Australia’s most respected and recognisable television presenters, with a distinguished career spanning 50 years across news and sport. A trusted voice of Channel Nine for 37 of those years, Ken was a long-time presenter of National Nine News and a defining figure of Wide World of Sports, working alongside legends including Brian Henderson, Graham Kennedy and Ray Warren.
Beginning his career in regional radio and television in Mudgee, Orange and North Queensland, Ken joined TCN-9 in 1979 and quickly became a mainstay of Australia’s sporting broadcast landscape. He went on to host and present many of the world’s most prestigious events, including multiple Olympic and Commonwealth Games, Wimbledon, Rugby League Grand Finals, State of Origin, Formula One and MotoGP, major swimming championships, the FIFA World Cup and historic global moments such as Tiger Woods’ breakthrough Masters victory in 1997.
Renowned for his professionalism, credibility and calm authority, Ken retired from Nine News in 2016, leaving a legacy as one of Australia’s most trusted broadcasters. Today, he is a highly regarded speaker and host, sharing insights on leadership, media, teamwork, performance under pressure and life at the highest level of sport and broadcasting.
