Kate Waterhouse is a journalist, media personality, style and fashion editor, and a member of Australia’s racing royalty. Daughter of leading trainer Gai Waterhouse and granddaughter of racing legend Tommy “TJ” Smith, Kate has grown up immersed in the racing world while carving her own highly respected career in media and fashion.

She is the Style and Fashion Editor for the Sun Herald, where her Date with Kate column features exclusive interviews with celebrities and public figures. Kate is also the face of Foxtel’s Lifestyle You channel and has been a David Jones Racewear Ambassador since 2004, regularly covering the Spring Racing Carnival and Melbourne Cup fashion. Widely regarded as a style icon, she is a frequent feature on best-dressed lists across racing and social events.

Kate has hosted racing segments on MMM Radio Brisbane, contributed to Australian Women’s Weekly and Vanity Fair (Germany), and appeared in campaigns for Le Tan, SKII, G.H. Mumm, and Nokia.
