John Worsfold is a former AFL player, captain and premiership-winning coach with a distinguished career spanning over 34 years. He played 24 games for South Fremantle, 209 games for the West Coast Eagles (1987–1998) and represented Western Australia six times in State of Origin. An original Eagle, he served eight years as captain and won two premierships, twice being named Club Champion and Best Clubman, with the VFL Team of the Year honours twice. In recognition of his immense contribution, the West Coast Eagles renamed their club champion award the John Worsfold Medal.

Following his playing career, John transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant at Carlton before returning to the Eagles as Senior Coach in 2002. Over 12 seasons, he led the team to two Grand Finals, winning the 2006 premiership, and earned AFLCA Coach of the Year honours in 2006 and 2011. He later coached Essendon for five years, guiding the club through challenging periods and achieving two finals appearances. John has also been Chairman of the AFL Coaches Association and contributed to the AFL Laws of the Game and Research Committees.

Beyond football, John is actively involved in community and charitable initiatives, including serving as an ambassador for United Way WA, Director of On My Feet, and Board member of the SAS Resources Trust. Since 2021, he has been General Manager – People, Culture and Communications at Emeco Group.

A Curtin University graduate (Bachelor of Pharmacy, 1989) and father of three, John brings extensive experience in leadership, team culture, resilience and performance, translating his on-field expertise into motivation and strategy for organisations and corporate audiences.
