Jade MacRae is a multi-dimensional artist and powerhouse vocalist, celebrated for her songwriting depth and expertise in studio production and arrangement.
Born to musicians Joy Yates and Dave MacRae, Jade studied piano and violin from an early age at the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music, continuing through to university level.
Jade released two full-length pop/R’n’B albums in the early 2000s to critical acclaim and Australian chart success. Since then, her career has spanned stage, screen and studio collaborations with legendary artists including James Brown, John Legend, Ray Charles, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, Neil Finn, Dave Stewart, George Benson, and Renée Geyer. Since 2015, she has been a key member of the touring and studio band for blues guitar icon Joe Bonamassa.
In 2020, Jade released her third solo album, Handle Me With Care, a soulful throwback 50s R’n’B collection praised by The Guardian as “the perfect comeback vehicle”.
In 2023, she released the singles “Out Of Sight” featuring Kirk Fletcher and “Rose Coloured Glasses”, from her forthcoming album In My Veins—a gritty, soul-driven collection.
