Glenn Ridge is a celebrated television host, producer, and media entrepreneur with a career spanning over four decades. He is best known as the former host of the National Nine Network’s iconic quiz show Sale of the Century, a role he held for 11 years, making him the show’s longest-serving host. During this time, Glenn also expanded his own production company, Q Media Productions, which now produces documentaries, corporate content, and television programs, including The Car Show and Boatique, where he serves as both executive producer and host.
Raised in Adelaide, Glenn began his professional life as an engineering draftsman for the South Australian Housing Trust before pursuing his passion for media. At 22, he enrolled in the 5KA Radio School and quickly launched his radio career, progressing from announcer to studio and program manager across multiple stations in Victoria. He transitioned to television in 1980 as host and producer of Breezin’, a weekly music video show for TV8 (now Southern Cross Broadcasting).
Glenn’s early television work earned him widespread recognition: his program Kids Only won a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Contribution by a Regional Television Station in 1986 — the first and only Logie awarded to BTV6 Ballarat. He also received Certificates of Commendation from the Television Society of Australia in 1986 and 1987, and was named one of the National Jaycees’ Most Outstanding Young Australians in 1988.
Beyond television, Glenn has pursued a variety of entrepreneurial ventures, including managing the hospitality business The Mediterranean in Mildura. He is also an accomplished motor racing enthusiast, regularly competing in events such as the Targa Tasmania, Targa West, and the Australian Safari. His love of adventure extends to water and snow skiing, motorbiking, and other high-energy pursuits.

He is a devoted father to three children — Bekki, Peri, and Oliver — and continues to inspire through his work both on-screen and off.
