Giaan Rooney is an effervescent Olympic, World, and Commonwealth swimming champion whose career began at age 11 at the Miami Swimming Club on the Gold Coast under the legendary coach Denis Cotterell. Over her illustrious career, she has earned medals at every level of competition, including Olympic gold.
Since retiring from swimming in 2006, Giaan has forged a successful career as an Australian television presenter. She has worked across Channel 7 and Channel Nine, covering major events including the Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, Australian Open, and the Australian Swimming Championships, as well as presenting on House of Wellness, Getaway, and Postcards.
Giaan is a passionate ambassador for CareSuper, Life Space Probiotics, Amazon Prime Video, and PetStock National Adoption Day, and supports charities including the Nelune Foundation, Lort Smith Animal Hospital, Sony Foundation, and Baby Give Back.
