Geraldine Turner OAM is synonymous with Australian show business and has been a public favourite for over 25 years. A consummate performer across theatre, musicals, opera, film, television, cabaret, dance, and recording, she was awarded the Order of Australia medal in the 1988 Bicentennial Honours list for her outstanding contribution to the performing arts.
Geraldine began performing as a child in productions such as Aladdin, The Sleeping Princess, and on Queensland’s Cottee’s Happy Hour. Her extensive training in classical ballet and singing enabled her to develop a versatile career spanning musicals like Oliver, Chicago, Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, and Sweeney Todd; operas and operettas including La Belle Helene and HMS Pinafore; and plays such as Present Laughter and Don’s Party. She has performed across Australia as well as in New York, London, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Africa.
Her screen credits include films Careful He Might Hear You and Summerfield, and television roles on G.P., Natural Causes, That Man’s Father, and as a panellist on Beauty and the Beast. Geraldine has received multiple accolades including two Green Room Awards (for Oliver and Anything Goes) and two Mo Awards (for Sweeney Todd and Anything Goes).
