Duck N Cover Band is a high-energy musical duo delivering powerful arrangements and electrifying performances, led by keyboardist/guitarist/tunesmith Jim Ducken and guitar virtuoso Tom Mullin. Together, they combine decades of experience and technical mastery to create a sound that captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
Jim Ducken, a native of Whidbey Island, has been shaping the Pacific Northwest music scene for over 25 years. Former owner of Mr. Music in Oak Harbor, he taught guitar to countless students and played in several bands, including Night Flight, Timepiece, and Deception Connection. His professional experience includes backstage access to major CCR tours and collaborations with renowned musicians like Eliot Easton of The Cars. In 2018, he recruited Tom Mullin to form the Duck N Cover Band, bringing together their shared vision of dynamic live music.
Tom Mullin is a seasoned performer on both guitar and piano, with a career spanning more than five decades across 40+ acts. His experience includes co-founding the KG3 band, producing acclaimed indie recordings, and performing in Seattle tribute bands such as Born to Be Wild (Steppenwolf), Threshold (The Moody Blues), Shake It Up (The Cars), Fever 103 (Foreigner), and Can’t Get Enough (Bad Company). Tom has collaborated with world-renowned drummer John JR Robinson and continues to bring his extensive performance and production expertise to the Duck N Cover Band.
