Born on March 9, 1973, in Perth, Western Australia, Danny Green’s rise to prominence in boxing is a testament to his unwavering dedication, discipline and passion for his chosen path in life. Growing up in Scarborough Beach, he pursued his passion for boxing while completing a Carpentry apprenticeship, turning his childhood dream of becoming a world champion into reality.

After winning State, National and Oceanic Titles, Danny went on to represent Australia at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Danny showcased his tenacity and skill on the international stage by defeating Brazil in his opening Olympic bout, before going down to the eventual gold medallist and then World Champion, the legendary Alexander Lebsiak of Russia.

In a display of remarkable resilience, Danny was leading after two rounds – having dropped Lebsiak, despite competing under intense physical duress, including a badly broken right hand in two places sustained in the opening round, and suffering a serious broken nose in the second. It was a performance that showed true Aussie fighting spirit. Danny, having proven his potential at the highest level, decided to pack his bags, move to Sydney and fulfil his dream of a professional boxing career.

Danny Green is celebrated as the only Australian boxer to have clinched four professional boxing world titles across three weight divisions. His career boasted impressive feats. Three-Division World Champion: his versatility and power earned him titles in the WBC/WBA/IBO organisations in the super middleweight, light heavyweight, and cruiserweight divisions. In 2024, he was inducted into the Australian Boxing Hall of Fame.

His storied rivalry with Anthony Mundine captivated the nation, culminating in a historic bout in February 2006. After 6 years of anticipation, the fight became one of the most significant events in Australian boxing history, recording the highest television pay-per-view audience, while taking place in front of a crowd of 40,000 people at Aussie Stadium. Incredibly, that rivalry continued for nearly 11 more years when they squared off in a highly anticipated rematch in 2017 at the iconic Adelaide Oval.

With a career record of 36 wins (28 by knockout) and 5 losses, Danny solidified his reputation as a formidable force in the ring, earning the moniker ‘The Green Machine’ for his devastating power and aggressive fighting style. Danny was named the ‘Best Puncher’ in the Super Middleweight division 2 years in a row by the bible of boxing, “The Ring Magazine”.

Danny still sits at the top of the Pay Per-View mountain, having competed in the top three highest rating bouts in Australian Boxing history, as well as having his company promote/co-promote the events.

Beyond boxing, Danny is a visionary entrepreneur. In 2002, he co-founded Green Machine Promotions, a renowned entity in Australia and abroad, with his longtime mate and manager Justin Manolikos, who is responsible for promoting some of the largest and most lucrative boxing events in the country’s history.

Danny is the co-founder of international ‘boxing for fitness’ franchise UBX Boxing & Strength, which is the largest boxing provider globally with over 100 locations currently operating in Australia, the UK, USA, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and the UAE.

Danny Green’s influence reaches far beyond sports and business. Known for his approachable nature and strong commitment to the community, he has actively championed causes against unnecessary violence through his founded charity, ‘Stop the Coward Punch Campaign’.
