Damon Gameau is an award-winning Australian actor, filmmaker, director, and international keynote speaker whose work inspires audiences worldwide to engage with social, environmental, and health issues. Damon began his career on stage and screen, earning acclaim for his acting, before expanding into directing and producing innovative documentaries.

Damon wrote, directed, and performed vocals for the 2011 Tropfest-winning short film ANIMAL BEATBOX. His debut feature-length documentary, That Sugar Film, won Best Documentary at the Australian AACTA Awards and became the highest-grossing Australian documentary of all time. He is also the author of That Sugar Book, published in nine languages.

His second feature, 2040, imagines a future shaped by the best solutions available today to regenerate the planet. Released in 2019, it ranks among Australia’s top four highest-grossing documentaries. His latest project, Regenerating Australia (2022), includes a national film tour and a financial fund to scale community-driven solutions.

A globally sought-after speaker, Damon addressed the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit in New York, as well as governments and major organisations including Google, BP, PwC, ANZ, Zurich, Atlassian, Mastercard, Credit Suisse, and CBA. In 2020, he was nominated for NSW Australian of the Year.
