Charles Tarbey is a pioneering Australian real estate entrepreneur, founder of CENTURY 21 Australia and Australian Franchise Systems (AFS). Beginning his career as an Assistant Property Manager in 1973, he quickly rose through the ranks, opening his first agency just three years later. His innovative approach to sales and management—developing systems like the “5 Laws of Real Estate” and implementing ongoing staff training—allowed him to build one of Western Sydney’s largest property networks.
In 1983, Charles established Combined Real Estate, which eventually merged with CENTURY 21 Australia in 1994. Under his leadership, CENTURY 21 has grown into the fastest-growing real estate franchise network in the country, expanding across hundreds of offices in Australasia. Through AFS, Charles has also overseen the acquisition of major franchise networks, including Laing & Simmons, Myles Pearce, and Wilson Pride, cementing his reputation as a transformative force in property franchising.
