Carmen Braidwood is a first-class MC, facilitator, and award-winning broadcaster, known for her professionalism, versatility, and engaging presence. With a career spanning radio, television, and live events, Carmen has established herself as one of Australia’s most respected media and event personalities.
Born and raised in the Perth Hills, Carmen began her career as a producer and newsreader at 6PR and 92.9, before becoming an announcer-copywriter in Western Australia and gaining recognition across Victoria as host of the Ace Radio Network’s breakfast show. Her work on Sea TV earned her the title of Gold Coast’s Best News Presenter (TV and radio).
Carmen then co-hosted the highly successful breakfast program team ‘Carmen & Fitzi’ on 96FM Perth for seven years, during which the show achieved Perth’s highest Time Spent Listening (TSL) from 2015–2017. She also co-hosted ‘Blackers, Carmen & Fitzi’, contributing to 96FM reaching Number 1 for the first time in 20 years. She currently co-hosts the weekend breakfast program on Radio 6PR and continues to appear regularly on local and national television.
Her TV experience includes presenting and contributing to Today Tonight Perth, The Pulse, Nine Live Perth, Destination WA, The Today Show, The Project, and numerous specials including Discover Boating and Telethon, where she has appeared annually for seven years.
Her professional training includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia, and certificates in Commercial Radio Programming and Directing/Media from AFTRS and the Academy of Radio.
Carmen’s achievements have been recognised with numerous awards, including Best Newsreader (Radio & TV) at the Gold Coast Media Awards, Innovation & Excellence (Metro) at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, Best On-Air Team (Country), and Best Music Special (Country). She was also awarded the Australian Commercial Radio Scholarship to attend the NAB Radio Show in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
