Campbell Newman is Chairman of Arcana Capital, where he syndicates commercial property investment opportunities for sophisticated investors. He is also a Director and adviser to a number of start-up technology companies and a regular commentator on News24 in Australia.

Campbell brings extensive leadership and business experience spanning politics, the Australian Army, corporate management, infrastructure and entrepreneurship. He served as Lord Mayor of Brisbane from 2004 to 2011 and as Premier of Queensland from 2012 to 2015, where he was involved in the conception and delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Before entering politics, Campbell spent six years as an executive with Grainco Australia, working across the grain storage, handling and logistics sector, following four years as a management consultant. He also served for 13 years in the Australian Army as an officer in the Royal Australian Engineers.

A self-described libertarian, Campbell combines a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility and economic freedom with progressive views on social issues. He was the first leader of a major Australian right-of-centre political party to publicly support marriage equality, doing so in April 2011, and subsequently contributed to the campaign for voluntary assisted dying legislation in Queensland.

Today, Campbell is particularly focused on Australia’s economic future, productivity and the impact of regulation and bureaucracy on business. He is a strong advocate for reducing unnecessary red tape, improving Australia’s competitiveness and creating an environment in which businesses can invest, innovate and grow.

He is also deeply interested in artificial intelligence, robotics and emerging technologies, and their potential to transform business, productivity and the Australian economy.
