Andrew Banks is one of Australia’s most respected business leaders in the human resources and recruitment industry, with a career spanning over four decades. In 1985, he co-founded Morgan & Banks with Geoff Morgan, building the company into Australia and Asia’s leading recruitment force. Under their leadership, Morgan & Banks grew to a $700 million business, eventually going public in 1995 and being acquired by TMP/Monster.com in 1999.
Following the acquisition, Andrew spent three years in New York as Global Director for TMP, overseeing more than 30 acquisitions and 4,500 staff across 32 countries. His global perspective and leadership experience have made him an authority in the recruitment industry, with a strong track record in growing companies, expanding market share, and driving shareholder value.
Before his success in recruitment, Andrew had a diverse career. After moving to Australia from the UK in the 1970s, he initially pursued acting and starred in a production of Macbeth at The Opera House. To support his acting career, he became a partner in a Sydney restaurant business. Ultimately, Andrew transitioned into the corporate world, where he spent six years in human resources roles across the UK, Norway, and the USA, before returning to Australia to help build the executive recruitment industry.
In addition to his business ventures, Andrew Banks has co-authored four books on recruitment with Geoff Morgan. He now focuses on his investment company, Morgan & Banks Investments, which holds a diverse portfolio spanning property development, operating businesses, and investments. He is also a major shareholder and director of Talent2 International (TWO), a publicly traded company on the ASX, which specializes in executive search, workforce management, and human capital outsourcing.
Andrew’s influence in the global recruitment industry, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, makes him a highly regarded figure in business leadership and investment.
