Amelia Mulcahy is a trusted and familiar face in South Australian media, delivering the weeknight weather report on 7NEWS Adelaide, a role she has proudly held since 2013 after joining the newsroom in 2009. An accomplished broadcaster, Amelia has produced the flagship 6pm bulletin, reported across a wide range of news stories, and regularly presented news updates. Her work has taken her from live crosses into 7NEWS, Sunrise, The Morning Show, and even internationally on CNN.

Beginning her career at Channel Seven while completing a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of South Australia, Amelia has contributed to Today Tonight, SALife TV, and major state coverage including elections and Royal visits. She has also featured with Seven Sport as a boundary rider for the BBL and works as an on-ground MC for Adelaide Strikers home games at Adelaide Oval.

A versatile media professional, Amelia has a strong presence in radio, having appeared on FiveAA, Mix102.3, Nova 919, and SAFM, where she co-hosted Weekend Breakfast in 2017. Beyond broadcasting, she is a sought-after MC for lifestyle and fashion events across South Australia, working with organisations such as Thoroughbred Racing SA, David Jones, the Adelaide Fashion Festival, Sally Phillips, and Couture + Love + Madness.

Deeply committed to her community, Amelia proudly hosts the South Australian Young Achiever Awards and created 7NEWS’ uplifting nightly segment Ray of Sunshine. She serves as an Ambassador for RSPCA SA and Parkinson’s SA, honouring her late grandmother, and previously contributed to the South Adelaide Football Club’s Women’s Committee.

Away from the camera, Amelia enjoys life in Adelaide with her husband Matt, daughter Grace, and beloved bulldog Barkley. A self-confessed cooking novice and aspiring marathon runner, she loves exploring—and celebrating—her home state of South Australia.
